How many times have you seen it?

Grown men and women,

Little boys and girls

Have heard the songs

Maria and the children sang

In a story set in a far away land

In a time before I was born

Yet we can watch it over and over again

Here at home

When I hear the tunes

that Maria sings lilke DO RE MI

The notes from the very beginning

Are not just music

From a hill on a far away land

From a period of Time long gone

When the music is timeless

We can close our eyes

And we can hear

The sound of beautiful music

Though sang by a voice of a Woman in her youth

It is timeless

It is ageless

Music can change a frown into a smile

Like the way Maria did it

In the Sound of Music

If and only we choose to hear it.
